Academic Integrity 4 Responses: Not a Violation

happy face

You're right!

This is NOT an example of academic dishonesty because you followed all the core values of academic integrity:

  • Fairness - you are allowed to work on homework assignments with a classmate unless your instructor specifies otherwise
  • Respect - by working as equals with a classmate, you show respect for each other
  • Trust - working hard with someone else will build a relationship of mutual academic trust
  • Responsibility - thinking out loud and talking about the processes involved to reach your conclusions with someone else is a proactive way to take responsibility and ownership of your own education. You can learn a lot more by collaborating with a peer than you can alone.
