Academic Integrity 5 Responses: Not a Violation

confused face

Nice try!

Actually, though, this IS an example of academic dishonesty because it violates the core values of academic integrity:

  • Fairness - it's not fair to your other classmates who woke up and were prepared on time. When you ask permission to go to the bathroom, then leave, then come back, you create disruptions to the classroom learning environment.
  • Honesty - you are not being on honest with the teacher about the reason you're leaving the classroom.
  • Respect - rushing in to class late shows disrespect to both your instructor and your fellow classmates.
  • Responsibility - as a student, you are responsible to be prepared for class on time. This includes getting enough rest at night and waking up in time to make it to your class before it starts.
