Advising Center - Transitioning to College

This guide provides information about making the transition to college for freshmen and transfer students.

Central Penn College provides a variety of academic support services that are aimed at provided assistance to the whole student.  You can find a comprehensive list our services on the College's website.

In addition to going to your professor's office hours, engaging in study groups, and reviewing your materials, you will need to turn to our campus resources for support and encouragement. Using resources help you to grow and develop as a scholar, to get a second opinion on your work and skills, and to combat feelings of frustration and anxiety.

It's also important to keep in mind that

all services are available to students regardless of location

services should be used early and often

every student can benefit from using resources not just 'good' or 'bad' students

your personal life can and does impact your academic life

support services are safe zones and judgment-free areas
