CamScanner - Basic Instructions

Do you have a course where you need to submit something to Blackboard that you either wrote by hand and/or that has signatures on it?

CamScanner provides users with the ability to use their mobile device to take a picture of a handwritten assignment/document, automatically enhancing the image to make it much more readable.  The app also provides the ability to create PDFs containing multiple images.  This means you can easily submit images without the usual dark backgrounds and with images combined into a single PDF file – two of the common issues that can occur using other methods (such as taking pictures with your device camera).

By signing up for a CamScanner account using a centralpenn.edu email account, students qualify for a free educational version of the app.  Go to www.camscanner.com and click the Sign Up button.  Once you sign up for a Basic account, you will receive an email informing you of the Pro features provided to educational institutions for free!

Once you have installed and opened the CamScanner app on your device, you'll see it gives options for either Single or Batch scanning.  If you want to do multiple pages in one file, Batch is the option.  However, even if you start with Single--you can still add additional pages before sending the PDF to yourself.

Please see the videos below for more information about using CamScanner.
