Installing Office 365

DO NOT INSTALL OFFICE ON CENTRAL PENN COMPUTERS. It is already installed and re-installing will cause problems. If you are unsure of how to access Office on a Central Penn College device please contact the IT department.

You can install Office 2016 on to up to five of your personal devices. This is not the same as the cloud-based applications in Office 365 or the OneDrive, which do not require software installation and have only the basic features. This is very helpful if you do not already have Microsoft Office 2016 on your computer or laptop. If you are using a computer in one of the Central Penn computer labs you do not need to re-install Office, it is already installed on all Central Penn computers. You will not be able to install Office onto a Chromebook.

To install you will need to log into Office 365 by logging into My.CentralPenn and click on Office.

In the upper right corner click the button with your initials; then click 'My Account'

Under the button with your initials is My Account

On the next screen click 'My account' on the left menu. Under 'Office apps & devices' is the option to Install Office.  You are also able to see how many times you have already installed Office. If this number is anything but 0, double check that you are not re-installing it on the same device because this will cause errors. If you want to continue with the installation, click 'Install Office'.
