Earn digital badges that you can add to your portfolio of skills. The BOTA and LTA programs from Procertas can help you improve your office skills. First take their assessment to find out which areas you are weak in, then go into their training modules to improve that area. Retake the assessment to earn your digital badge.
All Central Penn students within the Legal Studies and Paralegal programs have access to Legal Technology Assessment (LTA) from Procertas. LTA trains participants to use common applications (Word, Excel, & PDF) specifically for how the tools are used in the legal field.
For more general training on common business software (Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), all Central Penn College students have access to Basic Office Technology Assessment (BOTA). Because each person will have a unique login, the assessments allow users to tailor their training to their individual needs.
Reply to the Welcome email that will go out once per term to establish an account. If you need additional help with access, contact Bob Donley.
When you sign up, you will set your operating system and the versions you use for Word, Excel, PDF, and PPT, This can be changed later by clicking settings in your account.
Both BOTA and LTA are self-paced and have 2 types of modules:
Taking an Assessment first establishes your baseline and identifies the skills you should work on. Then in the Trainer module you can skip to the tasks you need to practice. Retake the assessment to earn a badge.
Will be emailed to you. Procertas uses Credly to distribute the badges. Credly is a digital credential platform that offers a place to store all of your badges, and a method to share them on your social medial or in your resume.
