Advising Center - Overcoming Obstacles

This guide provides information and advice for college students about common obstacles they face such as time management, procrastination, and early morning classes.

During a college experience, most students face obstacles when it comes to achieving their academic, personal, and professional goals.  Those obstacles can take the form of time management, class participation, homework assignments, and taking tests.  This guide was created to provide students with the Keys to Success for overcoming obstacles and moving forward in their academic journey.

When facing obstacles, it can be hard to remember that you are not alone on this journey.  You have support systems of your family, friends, faculty, and staff who are here to answer your questions and provide you with guidance.

Here are the Keys to Success when you find yourself in need of help:

Take a moment to analyze the situation before acting. Identify (or ask) who is in the best position to help you. Identify and use your support system for guidance. Seek help and use student support services. Remind yourself of your goals and where you want to be.
