Research Exhibition Guide: Handouts
Information
Handouts are a encouraged for students participating in the on-ground poster session presentation.
- If you would like your handouts to be printed out in COLOR email them by 5pm, June 1st to library@centralpenn.edu
- If you are using black-and-white handouts, print out 10 copies and bring them with you to the poster session.
Note: If you are presenting through Teams, you DO NOT have to provide a handout. You won't need anything printed.
Suggested Handout Setup
1. Your handouts should be a letter size sheet (8.5" x 11")
2. The front of your handout should sum up your research. Include:
- a hook - something to grab the audience
- your research question
- a brief summary of your research process
- your conclusions
3. The back of your handout should list all of your references in an appropriate citation style (APA, BlueBook, Chicago).

Use Microsoft Word for a clean, simple look. It's the easiest tool demonstrated here. - Microsoft PublisherDownload this example of a handout created using Microsoft Publisher. The background is from a free template that Publisher provides. Publisher is a little more complicated than Microsoft Word, but not as difficult as Piktochart.
